How I Work
The way I work is based in the theory and practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy. It is an approach based on exploration and understanding of interpersonal relationships, inner experience, life events and repeating themes and patterns in a person’s life.
Exploring emotional experience leads to processing internal and interpersonal conflicts, both conscious and unconscious. This helps to reduce problematic symptoms and suffering and promote growth of agency and choice. As every person is a unique individual, each therapy is adapted as necessary to fit specific needs while anchored in evidence based theory, research and practice.
The time that therapy takes is varied depending on your issues and needs. For some it is a shorter-term process for specific areas of difficulty and for others, it is a longer journey. Its overall aim is to help you heal, learn and grow and to experience your life in genuinely meaningful ways.
